Account & billing
Manage workspaces, members, and plans.
Manage your account settings, organize your team with workspaces, and choose the plan that fits your needs. This page covers everything related to your layernote account and subscription.
Account settings
Access your account settings by clicking your avatar in the bottom-left corner and selecting Settings. From here you can:
- Update your display name and profile photo.
- Change your email address.
- Update your password or manage your Google sign-in connection.
- Delete your account if needed. This action is permanent and removes all your personal data.
Notification preferences
Customize which notifications you receive and how. From your settings, toggle in-app and email notifications for each event type:
- Collaboration — Comments on your annotations, @mentions, and annotation status changes (resolved or reopened).
- Workspace and access — Workspace invitations, new members joining, project access changes, and role updates.
- Billing — Payment issues, subscription updates, trial expiration warnings, and seat limit alerts.
Each notification type can be enabled or disabled independently for in-app alerts and email.
Workspaces
Workspaces are shared environments where teams collaborate. All projects, folders, members, and billing are managed at the workspace level.
Creating a workspace
Click the workspace switcher in the top-left corner and select Create workspace. Give it a name and invite your first team members. You can create multiple workspaces if you work with different teams or clients.
Switching workspaces
Use the workspace switcher to move between your workspaces. Each workspace has its own projects, members, and billing plan.
Members
Invite people to your workspace by email from the Members page in workspace settings. All members can create projects, create and manage annotations, and collaborate on all projects in the workspace.
Plans and pricing
Layernote offers three plans to match your team's size and needs.
Starter — $19/month
For freelancers and small teams getting started with visual feedback. Includes up to 10 active projects, 1 workspace, up to 3 team members, guest sharing, website screenshots, Figma integration, comment pausing, versioning, and 5 GB of storage.
Pro — $39/month
Built for growing teams that need more power. Includes unlimited active projects, up to 3 workspaces, 5 base seats with additional seats at $15/seat, priority support, and 50 GB of storage. Everything in Starter, plus more room to scale.
Team — $59/month
Designed for agencies and larger teams. Includes unlimited active projects, up to 10 workspaces, 10 base seats with additional seats at $12/seat, priority support, and 250 GB of storage. Everything in Pro, with the capacity for bigger teams.
All plans are billed monthly. Annual billing is also available with a 20% discount.
Storage limits
Each plan includes a workspace storage allowance for file attachments, uploaded static files, and imported design assets. You can monitor your current usage from the Billing page in workspace settings. The storage overview shows a breakdown by category — website screenshots, annotation screenshots, Figma frames, attachments, and project assets — so you can see exactly where your storage is being used. If you approach your limit, layernote sends a notification so you can clean up unused files or upgrade your plan.
Upgrading and downgrading
Change your plan at any time from the Billing page. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the current billing cycle. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle, so you keep access to your current plan's features until then. If your downgrade would exceed the new plan's project or storage limits, you will be prompted to archive projects or remove files before the change applies.
